I just quit my job.
Well I've been putting up with alot from a certain boss since I've been at my job. Now I have a lot of things going on in my life right now and have some depression issues so my fiance advised me to have some time off to get myself together. I'm 24 and still have no idea what I want to do career wise. I've mainly worked in hospitality as a cook & waitress but I'm also a qualified beauty therapist (I realized after I did my course that it's not what I want to do) I would really like some crazy ideas as to what I want to do for work so I can look outside the square and try something different.
You mention that your boyfriend suggested you have time off so I'm assuming that you don't absolutely have to work right now. That's a plus if you don't have to be job hunting. I would recommend that you take stock of yourself - what your skills are, what you are interested in, etc. Make a written list if it's easier and don't forget to ask your boyfriend and other people you're close to for their opinions - they will often see strengths that you are unaware of. Then try to focus on getting into a field that combines something you enjoy with skills that you may already have.

Good luck with finding a job, it's hard at the moment =/ I had to find one after quitting my nursing course after 7 months (wasn't what I wanted to do) and I had a lot of trouble, as it is I've only got 11 hours a week working with kids at the moment, but fortuantely I'm living with my parents at the moment so money isn't a huge issue. If you're allright without regular income at the moment I'd suggest what everyone else does and don't rush in to any job, instead try and take it slow and think about all the possible options =)
