Default Men outfit for Summer wedding

What can men wear for a summer wedding?

I was thinking of a Khaki Suit (think of it more like a summer tux) may be with peaked lapels with a white shirt and dark tie. Is there anything else you can think of? Do you think a Linen suit will do?

We attended a July wedding last summer, and I saw alot of the men wear khaki pants with short sleeve shirts. They didn't look underdressed at all. I guess it would depend on what time of day it was and how formal. I've also read that men should wear black for an evening wedding.

If it's a formal wedding, even in the summer, a suit is most likely expected, even if it's in the afternoon. If the wedding is casual and during the day, usually khaki or gray pants will work with a white shirt. An evening wedding is almost always formal. When in doubt, it's best to ask though.

Hi Dahlia, since you are in India, your culture may be a little different from our here in the west. I have no idea what's it like in your culture when it comes to adornment for a wedding.

Dahlia,

Is this just for a guest attending the wedding, or for the groom?

As a guest, I think a nice linen suit would be gorgeous, and if he is on your arm, you could wear a very chic colorful sundress. Just try not to show up the bride and groom.

As the groom, if it is an American Style wedding and there are no traditional garments to be worn, I have been to some gorgeous summer weddings where the groom has worn a lite grey suit, of course the bride in a white gown (but summery.) what really popped was the flowers. the groom and all the groomsmen had beautiful bouteneirs made of "dahlias" (kind of fitting for you.)

Hope this helps.
