There are positives and negatives about all kinds of hair removal.

Waxing literally pulls the hairs from the follicle, so the follicle needs to recover before the hair can start growing back, so it's very effective. It might hurt, but unless you want to go through the expense of laser removal or similar, it's the most efficient.

Hair removal creams are good and painless, but they smell nasty and you can get allergic reactions to them.

Shaving is fairly quick and it's painless, but you do risk cutting yourself and the hairs grow back quickly.

One thing that you might read about shaving is that it makes hairs grow back thicker and darker. That's not true - it just seems that way because you cut the hair off so it has a blunt end, rather than the way hairs naturally are - tapered to a point. That just gives the illusion that they're thicker.

Have a go at whatever appeals or seems best for you - different methods are good for different people.

I used it for a while, and it's ok but you need loads of it to do both, so today I invested in Veet Spray On blablabla..

Both take 6mins max and you rinse it off in the shower, effects last about 3 days and no pain!
I used to use that but i stopped because i couldnt stand the smell. Lol but thats probably just me. I shave but i would love to wax as it sounds good but i'd be quite nervous to get it done.
