Acne

I have had acne ever since the day I turned 12, and it's a problem.
What products can I use to get rid of it though?
I've tried Clearasil and Neutrogena, anything else?

I envy all of you with perfect skin!

I never had acne that was that bad as a teen, but I did use Proactiv. They have a face wash, a lotion, and a toner. The products are kind of expensive, and they don't work for everybody, but it was worth it for me.

Nee-Chan, first of all don't worry much about it. I think acnes are commonly found during adolescence age. They might themselves will disappear once you grow up. Meanwhile, as a skin care initiative, you can try out the herbal products or natural therapy. I don't think all these fancy products in the markets ever gonna help. Rather, consult with a Dermatologist and ask him for some medicated ointment.

Sometime ago I tried using honey and natural yogurt. It did a good job, leaving my skin feeling silky and clean. All the spots did not go, but some did and I didn't have to use chemicals.

I find a little bit of comfort in knowing that eventually it will go away.
At the same time, I really want to find a way to make myself look better now!
Is there anything that I can buy at any regular store that will help? Any home remedies that you've tried out?

Acne doesn't always go away when you are an adult, unfortunately only in the majority of cases. There are many cases of adult acne though, so I encourage you to even try some of the home remedies. Have you tried toothpaste yet?

Don't say that ZoBunny, I don't want to be stuck with this forever!
Nobody in my family has had it past the time they were in high school, I'm hoping that the end is drawing near for me too.

Mother Nature certainly has an odd sense of humor doesn't she? As if your teenage years aren't bad enough without having zits to worry about and made you feel self-conscious

But I agree with other's comments that, particularly if the acne is very severe, then a visit to the doctor/dermatologist would be the first step. There are many brands on the market which claim to get rid of acne, but really, you need to find out what the underlying cause is before you can treat it properly.

My sister-in-law was trouble with severe acne for many years. It was particularly bad during the week leading up to her period. But no matter what lotions and potions she tried, nothing really worked. But on the recommendation of another sufferer, she paid a visit to a dermatologist who gave her antibiotics and cream and within weeks her skin was clear again. She had to continue the treatment for quite a while, but she felt it was worth it just to have a clear skin again.

Good luck with your quest!

Acne is awful! The only thing I like about it is that guys have to have it too When I had acne, I just drank a lot of water. Before bed, try dabbing it with alcohol or peroxide. I know that's normally supposed to work for pimples or zits, but it helped me when I had my acne problems. Hope this helps!
