wow where do i start, girls please help!

well basicly i was with this boy for over a year and yeah i really loved him but he would pick me up and put me down whenever he felt like it, he didnt really connect with my family but i did with his and he would refuse coming over my house because of this reason and it would annoy me because you would think he would come over too see me.. but still i really did love him and we had some really good times then this other boy came along. we were just friends but instantly we just clicked so i met up with him(just as mates) and i started to really like him, me and my boyfriend started so have serious problems in our relationship and me and this other boy started to get more closer. i finished it with my boyfriend for a variety of reasons and got with this other boy, i really really like this boy now and im really happy but i just cant get my ex out of my head is this normal or have i made a mistake. i keep on going over and over in my head but i just cant get to a conclusion please help girls who have been here id really appreciate it...

Oh Tasha, you will be fine. Its absolutely normal. You spent a year of your life putting an effort in a relationship with the ex. Its going to take a long time to get over it. Its just a phase.

What you have to start doing now is focus on what you're doing now with your current boyfriend. let it consume you and your day that way you wont have time to think about the past. If you dont start paying attention to your partner now you wont know how much of a good thing you had til he leaves you for a girl who doesnt have emotional baggage

so true! i know it probably is just a phase because im really starting to fall for this guy im with at the moment.. he's in the navy and when hes away i think about my ex but when im with him everything bad goes away and i dont think about anything else but him.. im starting to block my ex out of my head though, thanks for the help though most appreciated because it helps me focus more on the brilliant relationship ive got in front of me

He's in the navy? You poor thing, how often do you get to see him? No wonder you're finding it hard to move on sweets, you're alone some of the time and cant really get into the swing of having a full time boyfriend. I know you can do it though. Get rid of everything that remotely reminds you of the ex. Delete his contacts and steer clear when ever possible. Just until you know that all feelings done and dusted.

well its okay at the moment because i get to see him quite alot hes back on the weekends because hes only two hours away from where i live and he drives back down every weekend. and i struggle with that to cope without him and yeah ive done that ive deleted his number, his msn, everything. just doesnt make a difference its starting to stop now though because everytime i think of him i think of a good memory and then it gets clouded by a bad one so its all okay and im happy now , the only bad thing is whats about to happen which is my boyfriend is going away with the navy to scotland and thinks he might be away to sea for 6 months!!! dont know what im gonna do honestly im gonna cry! he means everything to me and i dont want us to finish but never done a long distance relationship before and dunno how im going to react, hmmm. x

Oh Tink. You poor thing!! Im not a big fan off hugs but here it goes *hugs*. Its so hard when a loved has to go away! I would put on a brave front and wave good bye to him and wait til Im at home with no one else around and let it all out!! I guess you could try the long distance thing? Life is full experiences right?? Give it a go. Maybe after the 6 months is up you guys will fall even deeper in love with each other...

I really hope it all works out.. I was in a long distance relationship for awhile. I hung in there til he came back... When we finally got our shit together we realized that weren't compatible after all... the experience was worth while though and we are still really good friends.... So dont let my story put you off. If he's worth the heartache and worth waiting for.... Then do it
