I wasn't sure but I looked around google and found some slides that are really similar.

See more pictures from the exhibition here.

Giant slides that stretch from each floor to the bottom of the Turbine Hall (you can watch live video of the ends of the chutes on line). I got my tickets and headed up to the third floor slide. You have to get on a little canvas sliding cloth with a sort of pocket into which you thrust your shoed feet, then fold you arms, tuck your chin and slide. It's odd, the sudden sensation of falling then the sort of ribbing that slows your descent before you pop out onto the main floor, blinking and disoriented. The fourth floor slide gives you more of that strange and helpless sense of falling and even more dizziness, but by the time I got to the fifth floor the lines were shorter and the padding greater (like skater gear for elbows, and a recommended hat which no one took). I actually looked out of the slide as I went down -- more dizzying, but I was finally able to enjoy the view rather than just worrying about falling. Highly recommended.

They do look interesting, but I'm not sure that I would really want to try one out! I have a huge fear of heights, and those slides look awfully high! I would go just to say that I've seen the largest slide in Britain though.

Lol Girls, This is not any roller coaster to have fun with. I have seen this image couple of months ago as a forwarded e-mail from one of my mates. I guess these are the sliders introduced by Infosys company (also known as Infy) at Australia.

Have a look at Infosys introduces SLIDERS in the office - Australian DC

You will know then!

PS: I do not know if this is Tate Modern in London or Infosys at Australia. I just pondered what I have found.

Oh, wow! I've never seen that before!

The Tate Modern is in London but as that's over 800 miles from where I live (and I live in the UK) it's still too far for me to check out. Well, on second thoughts, we might be going via London when next we go to the States so an overnight stay somewhere could mean a visit to the Tate. I'm really impressed with this 'playground' theme - it looks fun, though I doubt I'd be daring enough to try it out

Wow, that's certainly different, I have never seen anything quite like that. I wonder how often it is used, and what was the reasoning behind it?

Karla, the possible reason I can think of would be, to give the work environment an easy-go, entertaining look! It can also be to prevent the employees to walk up and down the stairs. Well, they could have also had elevators but again this would be a measure to cut down that electricity bill, may be... Lol

As a child, I would say those slides are awesome! Now, my lord are you out of your mind!! The only way I'd ride those is if there is a huge pool of water like a water slide has at the end. Even then, I don't know if I could handle the highest one, water or no water! They are sweet to look at though.
