Depression

Hey girls

I just need a little bit of advice please....

I don't really even know how to explain how I'm feeling but I'll give it a go. On and off for the last few years I've had stretches where I've just been really down even though nothing in particular was upsetting me. It went away for a while but now it's come back again. Everything just makes me want to burst into tears. I honestly feel like I'm going insane.

I've had a few rough stages in my life (physical abuse from my ex for 2 years being the main one) but I've usually been able to be happy.

I've been with my fiance for nearly 4 years now (I found a good one at last!) and about 6 months ago his 9 year old son came to live with us. (Quite scary at 24) Things have been okay but it's so hard looking after someone else's kid plus having the ex giving us ridiculous dramas. I've also been trying to fall pregnant for 2 years with no luck which is really starting to effect me. Plus the house we are renting is up for sale so there are constant intrusions from the real estate which is a pain.

Anyways I guess my question is, have you ever had depression? Do you think that's what I'm experiencing or am I really going insane?

Thanks for reading my ramble.

It sounds like depression but you should see a professional because other things can influence this. For instance, having a thyroid condition can induce depression. It sounds to me like you have a huge amount of stress in your life and relieving some of that may really help the situation.

I have to agree that this sounds pretty typical of depression. I have suffered it myself on and off for the last fifteen years, and it has always been a struggle to keep myself on top of it.

I can only suggest that you really, lean on your support system. You need the help.

I'm sorry for your rough times. You are definitely dealing with a fair share of stress and you may be suffering with depression over it, stress can really do a number on you. I recommend talking to a therapist or close family member or friend for some advice. If you feel down for long periods of time it should be looked into.

Never be afraid to admit you're feeling low.
Unhappiness is different from depression, but can easily be mistaken.
Have you someone close to talk to who can help you distinguish?

Hi,Kel.
I *exactly* know how you feel..
I am feeling like that now.
What you could do is read this article
It's great,I've tried it.

One thing you should keep repeating : "I must not let this depression affect my life" .

That's what I do. Believe me,It does work ,some time...

Good luck in future.
Oh about your ex : If he does again, call cops.

I have been there a few times, you know thinking that no one cares, that I am all alone in this world and I can trust anyone. I normally get out of it when people who love me reassure me of what I mean to them.

I have been there too. It does sound like depression...but it seems like you have a lot of things on your plate too right now.

Sometimes it's a stage too...and just takes a few listening ears and some words of advice to get through.

More than anything, for me, what is important is that you try seeing things from a different perspective. I think what is hardest, when you fall into depression, is being able to see the bigger picture of things.

At least...for me, I think I fall into this narrow-minded tunnel, where I can only see my problems and focus all these negative things in my life.

I think what's important is focusing on all the positive things in your life. (And trust me if you really be objective about it...u'll find LOTS). And also to ask yourself what is depressing you?

In 10 years, will you look back at this moment in time in your life and REMEMBER what it is that bothered you? Or will you think back and possibly laugh it off....
