Dealing with "Dudes" at work.

Men can be such pigs! How do you handle "discrepancies" at work with Men? It could be a co-worker, manager, boss, even a customer or client. Just curious to see where we are nowadays. BTW this doesn't just have to be sexual harrassment type issues.

The men I work with are gentlemen for the most part. There are some that are a bit rough in their approach, but generally speaking I have good ones working with.

The younger ones just kill me. They just seem to be so immature these days - it's like the they think they need to impress everybody - men and women - with their machismo.

all the staff or watever are women !! we can do anythin we want without them

I work in a male dominated workplace. It can be hard because they can be so harsh and forget your a woman sometimes. I used to get really upset but I developed a thick skin fast. I give it right back to them, it's the best way to get under their skin, and when you do it, make sure you have a great big smile. They love making you upset and getting a reaction. So don't let them have it.

I had a customer once when I was a little younger who was a right prick! We had run out of cocoa so we couldn't make hot chocolates or mocha's. He said "typical women, can't do anything right" Then demanded me to leave the shop to buy him a hot chocolate from somewhere else.
The worst part is his partner was there and was very "yes sir, no sir, 3 bags full" He smirked and said thats how a good B!@#H should behave in public. I'll have 2 sugars in my hot choc thanks love!!!"

I refused to serve him and told to leave. The entire cafe burst into a round off applause as him and his very obidient partner left

i work at starbucks so all the guys there are gay and theyre just fabulous!!!

I grew up hanging out with the boys down the street...so this is right down my alley!! Guys do not take subtle to well, BUT they do get hurt easily (even when it doesn't seem like it). I've learned that if you can make a joke out of something...they'll pick up on it rather easily and it softens the blow.

Such as, if it is "Women are not as smart as men, that's why blah blah"....your reation would be something like..."Oh, crap!!! Someone forgot to send me the memo!!!!...I've been out smarting men for years!!! Do you think you could forgive me for being smarter than you? I promise to try to be more dumb."

It might piss them off a little, but it won't hurt them! And it will help you make a joke out of pig-headed jerks!

I deal with sexist jerks at work all the time and I admit I let it get to me for awhile, but now I know how to deal with it. I joke it off!
