Any Only Childs Here?

I am one, and I have to say I've had a pretty good life. I'm spoiled constantly by parents and grandparents alike, and for the most part, if I ask for something, I normally get it. Not that I ask for anything too expensive or anything, but yeah.

The only thing I don't like about being an only child is the lonely issues that you get from not having siblings. I just ended up playing and talking to my stuffed animals and toys whenever I was at home. I'm pretty sure it shaped my personality at least somewhat, because I've turned out being this really quiet, mellow person.

I am also the only daughter for my parents. It was awesome, I get pretty much whatever I want. On the other hand, I felt lonely at times. If I ever break something I had no one else to put the blame on Lol Also, there was no one to giggle with at night and share secrets before I fall asleep. I however had cousin brothers and sisters. Hence, it was pretty much ok.

Thank god! I am not a spoilt kid Lol I hate being the only kid; fortunately I have a sister and a brother Both are elder to me. It is really cute and makes you feel special when you have elder siblings. Oh, it might be a minus point at times, if you know what I mean!

I was an only child for a little while, but not for long. When I was an only child, I was spoiled very much. I do think there is a difference between spoiled and a spoiled brat though, I was definitely a good kid.

I have always debated on whether or not I want my first kid to be an only child or not. I think that there are so many benefits both ways. I had brothers and sisters for the majority of my life, but I'm the oldest. At this point, I think that having just one kid would be the best. That way, all your attention goes to that one child.

Yeah, personally, when I have kids, I only want one. That may change sometime, but for now, I'm just sticking with an only child.

It really isn't so bad being one. I'm sure all of us Onlys have had some lonely moments once or twice. I definitely did and still do get spoiled, though it hasn't effected me in a bad way. I'm a pretty gracious kid. Though I asked for a lot of things as a kid, when I got into high school, I lessened my 'want' list because I understood and didn't like whenever my parents bought me something extra-pricey when they should be worrying about bills or getting what they wanted instead.

I'm an only child and even though I was spoiled, it didn't make me into a brat! At least I don't so. I am grateful for everything that my parents have given me. I would have liked a brother or sister, but we spend alot of time with family, so I was and am never alone.

I am one of two but have a daughter who looks set to be an only child. I would prefer her to have a sibling, but I have many worries over blended families.

Luckily I am not the only child in my family. I have seen many of my friends who are the single child in their families are normally spoil kids. I don't blame them as they can get anything that they want as they are the apple of their parents.

yea i also talk to toys and bears .... i wish to have a sister which we have many things in common but i dont ...so i have my bffs ! thier Niki ..which she is alot like me (like many things in common ) Yasmein ...she is kinda fashion but i still love her ...i have my friend beinazir she tease ppl but i still love her ..and sherin she always gets jelous but i still love her ..atlast iyeah the smart

i have many other friends but those who i like the most

plus , my cousins too !

so i feel safe with them i dont need sister or brother ....
