As time goes by I seem to find excuses to do less and less ironing.

I had a sister-in-law who ironed absolutely everything - and I mean socks and underwear!

If it can't be seen, don't iron it.

I like to iron pillow cases 'cos they feel nicer. I've stopped ironing duvet covers (excuse being that as soon as they are used they crease, although I do like to see them pressed, I don't like it enough to do it unless we're having someone to stay over and I feel shamed into pressing one for them).

You sound like me Gilla! My ironing goes in a pile by our boiler in the hall and it has to actually get to the stage where if I walk past it falls on top of me before I start to *think* about ironing it! Or OH starts walking round in his pants because he's run out of clothes! LOL!

I mut admit to being AWFUL when it comes to ironing, I just tend to hide it and pretend it's all gone away..... that only works for so long mind you. lol.

Ok girls, the mountain fell on me twice this morning so the time has come. But my iron has developed a black mark on the bottom which when it gets hot marks the clothes. I've tried scrubbing it but it's not shifting... any ideas?

I have 3 piles of ironing which I hide away in the spare room because if I can't see it then I don't have to think about it . As for black marks on irons, mine goes like that sometimes and if I scrub it lightly with one of those green scrubby pads it usually comes off. Not sure what else you could try, sorry.

I hate ironing too. The second household task I despise is vaccuum cleaning. Idk but I just hate it when mom says to take out the vaccuum.

Very carefully scrub it with a green scrubby thing whilst it's hot. Use some cream cleaner if you have it.

That's what I do and it normally works. Last resort - chuck it and buy another one. Tesco's have them for a fiver!
