British comedian Ricky Gervais rants about being fat

Apparently people all over have taken offense on the man's comments about losing weight and being fat. I don't get the uproar, honestly - comedians have been poking fun at fat people forever so why get your panties in a bunch over another one doing so?

People are over sensitive? Really if you can not laugh at a joke then you really need to get a life. People have been making fun of people long before there was a name for it (comedian).

Maybe its because he was large himself, and its seen as a personal insult? I don't get it myself either, I think that the guy is really funny.

If you are overweight you have been dealing with this for some time now, I don't see why anybody would be so offended by comments made by a comedian, they make fun of everybody equally.
