The US Food & Drug Administration (FDA) feels PPD used all hair coloring products are very harmful and should be banned. However; FDA states, that PPD in hair colors/dyes can be used in small quantities since it may cause irritations/ allergies. Hair color/dye companies around the world don’t always conform to these regulations primarily because a higher % of PPD means longer the retention and stability of color applied. Unscrupulous products enter markets because of poor regulation by the “Cosmetic Industry”. The customer can also to be blamed for patronizing these unscrupulous products.

So why the spotlight on PPD? One might be surprised to know that PPD may be present in many hair color and dyes, whether purchased at a local store or an up market salon. Allergic rashes and pigmentation/depigmentation problems are on the rise. The youth are exposed at a vulnerable age. This is a cause of concern and the need to create awareness. For patients who are PPD-allergic, other options are available. Proper labeling of products and an aware customer is the need of the day.

So, all you fashion lovers, dont ignore any sort of irritation or side effects caused from these hair colors. Color your hair with utmost caution.

Also youca n try natural henna hair dyes, but those can still be drying so using extra consitioner and adding an egg yolk to the formula could be beneficial.
